Nokia have an Activity Monitor available, which monitors your movements whilst running or walking, and charts the activity with real time stats on the phone. Compatibility is currently listed for the N95 and N95 8GB but I have it working fine also on my N82. It counts the number of steps you take, and works out the distance covered and energy used. I tried it out briefly, and it seemed to work well. It is all done by analysing the output from the accelerometer on the phones.
It is warned that the Activity Monitor can be a bit of a battery hog, so beware. It works best when the phone is carried on your belt in a case, or in your pocket, and is less effective if the phone is held in your hand or carried in a bag.
